The selection of teams advancing to the first phase of the competition took place on 15 January.
The international urban and architectural competition Kodaňská 1441, which will determine the future form of a new city block in Prague’s Vršovice district on the site of the current administrative building Kodaňská 4D Center, formerly the Chemapol-Investa building, has announced its participants. A jury composed of representatives of the investor, the City of Prague, the municipal district, and independent experts carefully reviewed 65 submitted applications and selected eleven teams that will now be invited to develop their concepts for the transformation of this part of Vršovice.
The jury selected the following eleven teams to participate in the competition (listed in alphabetical order by lead entity):
• the Israeli studio Barely Levitzky Kassif architects,

• the Prague-based studio Studio reaktor together with another Prague studio Aulík Fišer architekti, the German office Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, and landscape architects Rehwaldt Landscape Architects.
An important criterion in the evaluation of the applications was the quality of the reference projects, through which the teams demonstrated experience with projects of a comparable scale, including both the design of an urban ensemble and individual buildings. At least one of the submitted reference projects had to be completed or under construction. The jury also assessed the composition of the teams and their description of the professional approach to designing a new urban block.
The selected competition participants will come to Prague in the first half of February to familiarize themselves with the project site and the refined competition brief during the first competition workshop. In the Phase 1 of the competition, each team will work on a design concept for the new urban block. The concepts will be presented to the jury in early April 2026. Teams advancing to the second round will then develop more detailed designs, which will be presented to the public in June 2026, after which the jury will select the winning proposal.
